Closer Work is a purpose-driven Management Consulting and Business Services start-up specializing in Healthcare. We’re looking for a CFO (Chief Financial Officer) & Partner to lead the Financial function of our Group. ** The role can be performed, full-time or part-time (only initially), fully remotely from anywhere in Canada. For the first 2 to 6 months, you’ll get Equity compensation (Company Shares) instead of full Salary**

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
The main purpose of your role would be to improve the lives of Healthcare Organisations, Healthcare Professionals and Patients, whilst achieving our financial targets.
MAIN MISSION:
Our group will start small, with approximately 5 to 10 people at the group level and 2 individuals at the business unit level (1 for each business unit). This small structure will allow to establish a strong foundation for our group in an agile manner, prior to our scale-up.
Your main mission will be to help us monitor, maintain and grow the financial potential and safety of our Group.
Operationally, the key initial mission priorities will be:
- Designing and setting up our Accounting and Financial Reporting function, both at the group level and for our initial business units, covering areas such as accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and reporting.
- Establishing a robust Financial Planning framework.
- Ensuring compliance and optimization in Taxation.
- Implementing and configuring suitable Accounting Software solutions.
- Developing and maintaining a Shareholding Scheme for company partners.
- Setting up efficient accounting processes tailored for our small business units.
- Addressing additional foundational needs as they arise.
- Set-up intercompany transactions and transfer pricing framework.
THE TEAM
As a start-up, you will initially work with a small, tight-knit team, including:
- The Founder and Advisors: Providing strategic guidance and support.
- Closer Work Americas Management Team: Collaborating closely with the Group CEO, Chief Marketing Officer (CMO), Chief Business Intelligence and Data Officer, and Chief Technology Officer.
- Local CEO’s: You will be working closely with our local CEO’s.
- In the future, your role will expand to include working in an integrated manner with teams delivering complementary services such as finance, marketing, mediation, and more, delivering integrated solutions to our clients and candidates.
REQUIREMENTS
- 10+ years professional experience in finance/accounting.
- Willing to start the role in an small structure (early stage start-up), and carry out hands on work.
- The role is remote, so you could be based in any country in North America (e.g. Canada), Central or South America
